I’m sure you’ve regularly been told on the Gold Coast, that a mortgage broker is better than a branch direct or vice versa.
10 Years ago, after looking at options ourselves and wondering which career path to take, we considered the role we thought gave us the biggest capacity to assist clients and obtain finance for the best possible deal.
We wanted to share with you why we think you should align yourself with a successful mortgage broker.
Every mortgage broker can rattle on about customer service and how good they are. Whilst we do pride ourselves on service, it isn’t enough, we need people to know the facts. All of which are in the following paragraphs.
After hours service. Our phones are on 7 days a week and we’ll accept calls from clients up until 9pm at night. Further to this, majority of our appointments are held from 6pm until 9pm weekdays. This is usually when our clients are home from work and their kids are in bed (if they have any). Most Branch’s are closed at 4:30pm.
You will see a lot of mortgage brokers advise they have access to 25 plus lenders (Uprosper included). This is a huge benefit because we can confidently say that in 99% of cases we can beat what a client has been offered by their bank/branch.
We can also offer them solutions on how their loan should be structured to optimize savings as different banks offer different products and can be confusing without professional guidance. This played a huge factor in why we chose to be a Mortgage Broking company.
Further to the above point, having access to all of these banks enables us to choose the bank that will approve the loan for each customers unique circumstances. This is more important than ever at the moment with investment lending.
A lot of the major banks are pulling out of lending for investment purchases when a client has less than 20% deposit. Using a broker gives you access to find the correct bank that will provide the correct amount of lending enabling you to proceed. We still currently have access to lenders offering 95% lends on investment purchases.
As a mortgage broker we provide advice not only based on what the maximum loan amount we can obtain for a client is or what the best interest rates or products are. We provide advice around budget planning – how much you can really afford, insurances to make sure people are covered when taking out a mortgage, put a strategy in place to have a client pay off their mortgage quicker and we also ensure clients are starting to think about their retirement.
